Shoutout to the SOS Bros for their really engaging reaction/commentary vids on the HQ anime, which I binged in 3 days

Just felt like putting some appreciation out there for a video series I randomly decided to check out, I THINK because it was mentioned on this site somewhere. Don't know where else I would have seen it mentioned.

This is a pair of brothers who watches each Haikyuu episode, gives reactions during the ep like folks do, and then have the second half or even two-thirds of the video show their really engaging commentary, opinion and predictions on each episode, which was the real highlight of all these vids. They had so much to say on each character and were appreciative of the uplifting, engaging vibe the series had and obviously only got more invested as they progressed through the show. One of the two is actually a sports guy himself so he could relate to a lot of the feelings the chars had towards the game and competitions. Since I know so few sports anime fans who are into irl sports, that was like, mythical to me lol.

Things like going from "This show is fun!" to "This show makes me so happy", and "Oikawa is such a diva" to "Boi-kawa is SO fascinating" and "Tsukishima's character development has been under wraps for a while, I wonder what's going to happen with him?" to "YEEESSS TSUKKIIII!!!" and the adorable idea they had, early on, that after Season 1, the school year would be over and there'd be a timeskip and Kage/Hina/Tsuki/etc would be second-years and they so didn't want the third-years to be gone yet.

Starting at the end of season 2, they stopped showing episode clips on screen, due to shitty YT copyright claims I assume, and only showed an episode timer on screen. So you had to watch the ep on a laptop while also having their video going on your phone next to you, which I absolutely did. I listened to these vids at the gym, on my lunch hour at work, and after work and in bed, sometimes playing on 1.5x or 2x speed to consume more vid in less time. God, my ears hurt after that sometimes, and I stayed up far too late on worknights to enjoy these vids, but enjoy them I did.

Just saying. If you want to enjoy the anime series again in a new way, and hear people talking about it with genuine interest and excitement, maybe try this: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLJVzCiCh8OrTN4hJXuaUteYeM7sipG_di
