Johnny Apple distillate cartridge review

As with most people, I was overwhelmed with the amount of different CBD products available and did not know where to start. I had been an extreme cannabis user for decades, until major panic attacks began. I have been alcohol and drug free for 5-6 years. I deal with chronic back pain and joint pain, from my job, and from past injuries. More importantly, I have struggled with anxiety for most of my adult life. A was visiting family and noticed a new store had opened up that was all CBD products, from flower, to pills, to bath bombs. I first tried a full spectrum tincture, but that's for a different review.

I have always enjoyed smoking, but know it's not ideal for the body, so I decided to try out a vape setup. I bought a little 510 threaded battery and two cartridges from Johnny Apple. They are .3ml of pure hemp distillate, with 225 mg of CBD, contain zero THC, do not have any carrier liquids (VG/PG/MCT oil), and contain natural plant terpenes. Each cartridge was $25, and initially I got the "Zen" and the "Bliss" carts. I was hesitant to try it out, because even though I knew it contained no THC, it was a similar plant and I worried I would have a panic attack. I waited until I was in bed and tried out the Bliss cartridge, because I had read that the Zen cartridge was previously named Zenergy and provided an uplifting anxiety relief, mood boost, energy boost, and creativity boost. It was late, so I figured Bliss, which said it gave euphoric relief, would be perfect. I took a few puffs of the Bliss and my heart started to race. I felt pretty uncomfortable, but eventually calmed down. I think it was because the terpenes really made it taste like weed, so my anxiety kicked in. I did not really enjoy it and figured I had just wasted a bunch of money on something I would never use again. I had the next day off and, after dinner, I decided I should at least try the Zen cartridge. I took a few hits and it was like a wave of relief washed over me. Having not smoked weed or had a drink in years, it was the first time I felt like something "took the edge off". I continued using it for the rest of the week with great results. It dramatically reduced my anxiety/stress and it actually did boost my creativity. I'm a tattooer and, being the shoulder season where I am, I have been in a rut where I just fuck around on my phone in between appointments and don't want to make art for fun. This last month, I've been trying to really work on my freehand lettering techniques, but just this past week, I've had a few breakthroughs and have found drawing in my free time fun again. Anecdotal, for sure, but still very real for me. The Zen provides a more "heady" relief, where the anxiety volume is lowered, but you aren't sedated at all. I have been using this morning, noon, and night, but that brings me to my next review (which will change my routine a bit). Also, the flavor is excellent.

I went back to the store today, since I'm in the area again, and bought a "Calm" cartridge. It is supposed to be more sedative, relaxing, calming (hence the name). I was so convinced that the Zen was my favorite, that I ordered 5 cartridges online the other day, but I had to at least try the 3rd option. Same distillate, but with different terpenes. I bought a new 510 battery, which has temperature settings that my first pen did not (which I recommend newbies like me get, for sure) and decided it was a good time to test this new cart and my new pen. Holy crap, this stuff is fantastic. First, it tastes incredible. Second, it gave me all the anxiety/stress relief that the Zen cartridge gave me, but it was not "heady" at all; it was all body. It honestly felt like taking a Klonopin and a muscle relaxer. It's been about 3 hours and I'm about as comfortable and feel better than I have a long time. I'm pretty planted into the couch, which is awesome on my one day off a week, but I can see this being an after work/before bed type blend.

So, to sum it up, all of the Johnny Apple cartridges were strong. One of them didn't really agree with me, but the other two are absolutely incredible. It's expensive, because .3ml goes fast if you like to vape a lot throughout the day, but if you are an "as needed vaper", this is a great choice. I hit it maybe once in the morning, once in the afternoon, and a few times at night. Between two cartridges, that lasts me a week and a half or so. Again, maybe not a very inexpensive option, but it's worth it to me. I spend about the same on coffee, within that time frame (don't get me started on that expensive habit). They post all of their labs on their website, too. With that said, I'm always on the lookout for something better, more affordable, or whatever, but I think it's going to be hard to beat this, until I get into making my own. If anyone has tried these and had similar results, but also found something they like better, I would be very interested in knowing what it is. The market is exploding, so there are honestly too many for one person to try. I'm rambling now.... I just wanted to write this review, because I've felt like a shill in recent comments, because I have been recommending this to everyone. I'm not affiliated with this company in any way and I spent my hard earned money on this stuff, just like everyone else. Thanks for reading this and I hope it helps someone find the relief they are looking for.
