Ten years.

In the year 2190 we developed faster than light travel. We spent the next ten years refining it so that there would be no problems while in FTL. In the year 2204 we had charted our local cluster of star systems. We spent the next ten years preparing selected groups of our population to colonise those systems. In the year 2214 we launched our first colony ship. We named it Hope. We spent the next ten years supporting this colony. In the year 2224 our colony had developed into a lush paradise and we wanted more. We spent the next ten years expanding our influence. In the year 2234 we made first contact with a race called the Fenicians. We spent the next ten years trying to improve relations with them. In the year 2244 we launched a dual colony called Sanctuary. We spent the next ten years in peace. In the year 2254 we met a new race. They called themselves Humanity. They were a pre-FTL species. We spent the next ten years uplifting them. In the year 2264 Humanity had colonised Alpha Centurai. We spent the next ten years proud of our work. In the year 2274 Humanity had surpassed us in technology, we were even more joyous. We spent the next ten years trying to catch up. In the year 2284 I was born on Alpha Centurai secundus. I spent the next ten years in primary level education. In the year 2294 I entered Secondary level education as a prodigy. I spent the next ten years being boastful. In the year 2304 I met the love of my life. I wonder how the next ten years will go.
