I Was Just Trying To Be Nice! TLDR: My first major reddit post that was meant to spread some uplifting words got a lot of unexpected negativity and backlash. Sorely tempted to go back to being a guarded hermit. I’m new to Reddit. I had a really rough couple of months this year, so I decided to make an account on here to to make some new friends, and just be more open and outgoing. I made a post hoping to share some kind words to any who needed to hear them, and got a sh*tload of cruel comments. What the hell did I do wrong?! I just don’t get it. Then I made another post in another subreddit asking a “what would you do” question, got more rude comments and then my post gets removed for defending myself! I don’t know if something is in the air today, but I had no idea so many jerks were out there. I’m trying not to let it send me back into my shell, but I just feel so stupid and childish for letting mean internet comments from strangers hurt me so much. I wish I wasn’t so damn sensitive sometimes.
