Am i alone in thinking “uplifting news” is actually rather depressing?

I know that sounds ridiculous, but allow me to explain:

The fact that certain things are now considered uplifting is kind of sad. For example, around christmas i saw something along the lines of “no reported murders in new york during the christmas period” on r/upliftingnews, and the fact something like that is now uplifting the people just saddened me.

Am i the only one with this messed up line of thinking or are there people who share this opinion?
